SALEM, Ore. -- Multiple shots were fired Wednesday night in the parking lot of a Salem Red Robin restaurant and two victims were taken to a hospital, a Marion County Sheriff's Office spokesman said.

It happened just before 9 p.m. at the restaurant located at 3610 Center Street N.E.

Detectives believe the shooting is gang-related. No arrests have been made, but the sheriff's office said there was no evidence suggesting a threat to the community.

Sgt. Chris Baldridge said the gunfire involved a fight between two groups in the parking lot. Paramedics took two people to a Salem hospital. Both were treated for gunshot wounds and released.

A short time after the shooting, deputies responded to a second shooting "a short distance from the original altercation," Baldrdige said in a news release. No injuries were reported at the second shooting scene.

The sheriff's office is asking anyone with information about the shooting to call their tip line at 503-540-8079.
